DESCRIPTION

The Xbox Console History Museum project transforms the traditional museum concept into an immersive digital experience. It provides visitors with a comprehensive look at every Xbox gaming console released over two decades, allowing hands-on exploration of information through console operation

My role was to make UI design for the exhibit, crafting a visual system that reflects the evolution of the XBOX brand while optimizing for fluid natigation and on-site engagement.

CONTEXT & CHALLENGE

If you are a XBOX user you might instantly understand what this project is about. But to me, when landing on this project I’ve never used XBOX console in my privious life, designing on-site engagement immediate becoming a challenge for me.

RESEARCH & INSIGHTS

Due to the NDA, I couldn’t include Xbox’s internal references in this case study. My research process focused on understanding how the existing Xbox design language could be extended into an immersive exhibit environment. I analyzed the UI patterns, motion behaviors, and tone from previous console generations to identify what made the experience feel distinctly “Xbox.” The goal was to recreate that familiarity in a new context, so users could navigate and explore intuitively, without needing to relearn an interface.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

I structured the experience around a clear, hierarchical flow to organize every feature of Xbox One consoles. Starting from the central Home Sphere, each major CTA as History, Launch Titles & Trailers, Entertainment, and Game Pass—branches into focused submodules that highlight key moments, products, or technologies.

VISUAL & WIREFRAMES

XBOX already has a established interface language, so my focus was on adating it precisely while maintaining visual consistency across new layouts. Every element to the grid alignment of content blocks was refined to pixel perfection. The interaction and composition styed faithful to the XBOX ecosystem.

OUTCOME & REFLECTION

Working on the Xbox Console History Museum project was an incredible opportunity that I'm deeply grateful for. As a designer, having the chance to contribute to one of the biggest brands in the gaming industry was both exhilarating and challenging. The project's tight time constraints pushed me to quickly adapt to Xbox's unique brand language and design principles. Despite the pressure, I found it immensely rewarding to create an immersive digital journey that not only strengthened Xbox's brand narrative but also allowed users to explore gaming history in a hands-on, engaging way. This experience has significantly enhanced my skills in rapid prototyping, brand adaptation, and creating interactive digital experiences. It was truly fulfilling to see how our team's efforts resulted in a project that effectively highlighted Xbox's technological advancements while providing an engaging platform for users to connect with the brand's rich history. This project has been a highlight of my career, combining my passion for gaming with my expertise in UX design, and I'm proud of the impact it will have in showcasing Xbox's legacy.
